Accounting oversight needed!
The PLC needs a CPA to provide oversight of our volunteer bookkeeper and assist/guide us with tax prep and other financial filings. The time commitment would be low, as we have a small budget, few contractors, and limited cash to manage.

The Portland Literacy Council is a small (but mighty) non-profit serving primarily the Portland Metro area and SW Washington. We train volunteer tutors to work with adult English literacy learners through libraries, community colleges, and immigrant support programs. We have a small working Board of 8 dedicated individuals, a half-time Exec Director, and a small cadre of contract adult literacy instructors.
Our funds come from donations, grants, and fees for training workshops. Our board Treasurer is currently acting as our volunteer bookkeeper, using QuickBooks online, with no formal training. We need the oversight of a CPA to review monthly bookkeeping and to assist with Oregon and federal financial filings on an annual basis.
