AICPA:
An overview of the new Uniform CPA Examination.

Oregon Board of Accountancy (BOA):
The mechanics of applying to sit for the Uniform CPA Examination in Oregon, how to become licensed, what the supervisor role is in signing off on a licensee's experience requirement, and information about the Board.

Look! BOA new rule change eliminates the work experience write-up requirement and is replaced with a work experience affidavit. Plus, covers candidate education requirements, internship hours, and window for CPA Exam credit which begins when the scores are released.

Students and CPA exam candidates that are interested in pursuing the CPA credential as well as CPAs responsible for signing off on experience requirements.

Objectives

Participants will learn about the Oregon Board of Accountancy's (BOA) application process to sit for the Uniform CPA Examination and the licensure requirements. The BOA will review the experience requirements for new licensees and the responsibilities of CPAs who supervise and sign off on the experience requirements. AICPA will also discuss the new Uniform CPA Examination.

Joe Maslott, Associate Director - Examinations, AICPA

Joseph Maslott, CPA, is the Associate Director -- Content Management with the AICPA Examinations team since 2006. Mr. Maslott has over 20 years of accounting experience and began his career at PwC.  As a lead CPA on the AICPA Examinations team, he has served in various roles including Staff Liaison for the AUD subcommittee and business owner of Simulation Development for all sections of the Exam. Most recently, Mr. Maslott led the CPA Evolution practice analysis, a research project designed to document the scope of entry-level practice as well as serve as the foundation for the Exam's validity and legal defensibility.

Martin Pittioni, Executive Director, Oregon Board of Accountancy

Mr. Pittioni received his Bachelor's Degree in Political Science from Portland State University, holds a Masters Degree in Business Administration from Heriot-Watt University in Edinburgh, Scotland and completed doctoral coursework in Public Administration and Policy at Portland State University. Prior to re-joining the Oregon Board of Accountancy in May 2022 as their Executive Director, his extensive regulatory experience includes serving for over four years as the Director of the Office of Health Professions at the State of Washington Department of Health, preceded by his service as Executive Director for the Oregon Board of Accountancy from 2012 to 2017. Mr. Pittioni also developed special expertise in behavioral health regulation as Director for the Oregon Board of Licensed Social Workers from 2008 to 2013 and as Director for the Oregon Board of Psychologist Examiners. Mr. Pittioni has served on multiple NASBA committees and has successfully shepherded many bills and agency budgets through the Oregon Legislature.
