Scholarship Spotlight: Jackson Gielish

Who or what inspired you to get where you are today?
There have been a lot of people in my life who I can attribute to helping me get to where I am now. However, the ones who have pushed me to be better and to work hard no matter what are my parents. They have always encouraged me to get my education so that I may have more opportunity to grow in my working life. Additionally, Shelly Hartzell, the accounting professor at Bushnell University inspired me to take the route of being a CPA.

How will you define success as a CPA?
I define success as a CPA by my ability to thoroughly know my job and help clients meet/exceed their needs. However, my goals in the workplace are not to just work hard and know my job, but for clients to trust me to assist them on problems they may have going on in their business.

Tell us how you achieved one of your most recent professional goals.
I obtained an internship at Kernutt Stokes through being proactive in my goals and establishing a necessary foundation of skills in order to obtain success in the workplace.

What are you most passionate about?
My passion in the workplace is being able to help others in any way I can. I feel the most fulfillment when helping others because when things get done and people are happy, that is when I feel most accomplished.
