Objectives

Participants will receive a guide to assess common international tax issues for small and midsized businesses. This program will address high-level issues and should prepare a practitioner, without a deep knowledge of international tax, to spot hidden risks and pitfalls. This program is not designed to dive deep into international tax technical issues but will provide a guide to areas that every general practitioner needs to know.

Leader Bios

Nick Uren, Senior Manager, International Tax, Aldrich CPAs + Advisors LLP

Nick Uren specializes in international tax and mergers and acquisitions. Before his career at Aldrich, Nick worked for several years at two Big 4 accounting firms and most recently was a leader with Grant Thornton's Pacific Northwest international tax practice.

Nick graduated with his bachelor's in business from the University of Montana, his MBA from Seattle University, and his Juris Doctorate from Seattle University School of Law. He is a licensed attorney in Oregon and Washington and a member of the Oregon Bar Association tax section and the Washington State Bar Association tax section. Nick is a former chair of the International Tax Committee of the Washington State Bar Association tax section. Outside of work, Nick enjoys being outdoors camping, hiking, and skiing with his wife and son.
