Was it worth it to get your CPA credential?
It has definitely been worth becoming a CPA; these 3 letters carry a lot of weight in the business community and convey the hard work and expertise that goes into getting the credentials.
What do you love about your job?
I love being able to help my clients with efficiencies or challenging questions. I also love being able to connect them to resources whether it is a policy they should be considering or a new technology that could save them time.
What surprised you about being a CPA?
That I would never need to take another exam again! Other credentials aren’t necessary and as a CPA you are constantly learning and growing your expertise.
How has being an OSCPA member benefitted you?
I’ve appreciated the high quality continuing education from the OSCPA and ongoing notification of what is happening in the profession. The industry is constantly changing and the OSCPA has helped me stay caught up on all the changes that may impact my client base.
What advice would you give a new CPA?
Figure out your passion; the world of accounting is diverse and your career as a CPA can be rewarding when you find something that fits and keeps you connected.
