What do you love about your job?
The people! Don’t get me wrong, the work is exciting and fulfilling but what gets me excited to go into the office on Monday is the people I get to work with.
Who inspired you along the way?
Rob Moody has been an inspiration to me by not only being an amazing mentor but also by introducing me to the many career opportunities a CPA can do outside of the traditional audit/tax work.
How has what you learned last year in the OSCPA Leadership Academy™ LEAP™ helped you?
LEAP™ re-introduced me to the 7 Habits of Highly Effective People and helped me to think more deeply about ways to apply those habits in my current workplace role. Specifically, the 2nd and 3rd habits (Begin With the End in Mind® and Put First Things First®) have been the most impactful with me when managing various engagements and attempting a healthy work-life balance.
What advice would you give to new CPA?
Don’t forget or be afraid to take time off! Too many people in our profession burn out quickly because they prioritize work over their personal life.
