Was it worth it to get your CPA credential?
Definitely! While it can be challenging to obtain, it opens so many doors in public accounting and beyond.

Who inspired you along the way?
My parents always encouraged me to go as far as I could which got me into the accounting field. Once I got into public accounting, Kernutt Stokes has been so supportive of me pursuing different avenues within the firm that interest me. 

What do you love about your job at Kernutt Stokes?
My job offers so much flexibility and I love knowing that I’m helping businesses that are important in my community. I also love puzzles which has directly translated into many aspects of my day-to-day job. 

How has being an OSCPA member benefitted you?
The OSCPA offers valuable training on a variety of topics and great networking opportunities with others. I enjoy learning from other CPAs and keeping up with the newest standards.

What advice would you give a student who’s thinking about becoming a CPA?
Connect with as many CPAs as you can to learn what they like about their jobs. There are so many reasons to become a CPA and not everyone with a CPA fits the accountant stereotype.
