Who or what inspired you to get where you are today?
The biggest inspiration I have found to get to where I am today would be my parents! They have always taught me to work hard and to be respectful to all. My father worked in the school district for many years and my mother works for the school district right now, and they always taught me to find something I love to do, and I never have to work in my life. These individuals showcased what hard work should look like.
How will you define success as a CPA?
I will define success as a CPA when I help others and make others' lives better. Whether that is through my firm making companies' lives easier or giving openly to others to make sure they can share the same comfort that I will have. Success is less about how much money you make, contrary to many thoughts, but more about the difference you can make in this world. That is true success.
Tell us how you achieved one of your most recent professional goals.
I will be interning at Kernutt Stokes next summer and this is an amazing opportunity that I have been blessed with. To achieve this goal, I simply worked consistently to understand more about accounting in the classroom and outside. However, this was an opportunity that crossed my path, all I did was act on the opportunity. Again, thank you very much to Kernutt Stokes for giving me the chance to learn about them as well as work under a great company.
What are you most passionate about?
I am most passionate about growing. This can be applied to many areas in life, growth in my job, growth in my faith, and growth in my relationships just to name a few. If I am always focused on growing that means I will always be eager to learn. If I'm constantly striving to grow it will set me up for success!
