Who or what inspired you to get where you are today?
My parents and background have inspired me to get to where I am today. I am grateful to have received the opportunity to pursue higher education as I am the first in my family to attend college and because of this, I have been determined to make the most out of this opportunity. My achievements and goal to become a CPA stem from my desire to have a successful career and to take advantage of the opportunities my family never had.

How will you define success as a CPA?
As a CPA, I will define success as truly making a connection with the people and businesses I may work with while also making a positive impact for them through my work. I would also define success as continual learning to not only develop skills but also be aware of any changes in practices or regulations within the industry. Lastly, I would say that success would also include the ability to not only focus on work but to also find time for one’s personal life especially with the many demands a CPA may have.

Tell us how you achieved one of your most recent professional goals.
One of my most recent professional goals that I achieved was working as an intern at a regional sized accounting firm. This was a goal of mine as I wanted to get the opportunity to gain some experience in the accounting field and get a sense of what it would be like working in an office. I achieved this goal by attending networking events held at my school to find a firm that best suited me and by reaching out to a recruiter for any opportunities they were offering.

What are you most passionate about?
I am most passionate about helping others and being able to make meaning connections with people. Whether it’s helping someone in small or big way, I find satisfaction in making someone’s life easier or just making them happy. In today’s world, I truly believe that small acts of kindness can go a long way and bring people together.
