Member Spotlight: Jacelyn Lim

Who or what inspired you to get where you are today?
I aspire to become a CPA in the future. My mom has been my inspiration to pursue higher education and strive for a successful career. She assists my dad with their small business, and I've always admired her strong mental arithmetic skills. However, my passion lies in financial analysis. My mom has taught me the value of helping those in need and being generous, which has instilled in me a desire to contribute to society and aid others with knowledge and skills.

How will you define success as a CPA?
A successful CPA must adhere to rules and regulations and avoid committing fraud. The most important characteristics are integrity, trustworthiness, and honesty. A passion for making a positive contribution to society can be valuable, such as assisting small businesses in managing their finances and helping individuals with debt management, cash flow, and other financial issues.

Tell us how you achieved one of your most recent professional goals.
As an accountant at a local corporation in Portland, I take great pride in my meticulous approach to double-checking all my work. I am highly attentive to the accuracy of payment and transaction entries and conduct thorough sales and financial report analyses. I confidently provide detailed explanations for any discrepancies compared to the forecast, enabling the management to make informed decisions that significantly enhance the company's financial status.

What are you most passionate about?
I am extremely passionate about financial analysis and investment. As a future CPA, I am driven to contribute to society. By excelling in financial analysis and aiding businesses in maximizing their resources, I can effectively enhance their efficiency and profitability, ultimately fostering business and economic growth.
