August 20, 2024

The Public Company Accounting Oversight Board (PCAOB) announced that a record 676 students from U.S. colleges and universities have been selected to receive a scholarship for the 2024-2025 academic year, up from 369 scholarship awards in 2023 and 250 in 2022. In addition, for the first time ever, each PCAOB Scholar will receive a $15,000 award this year, up from $10,000 previously. Ciera Johnson
Oregon State University

My experience with the Oregon State University accountancy program is not one I take for granted. I am so grateful for the opportunity that scholarships like the PCAOB scholarship have allowed me to pursue. Throughout my time at OSU, I have been able to complete two tax internships, participate on the Deloitte audit innovation challenge team, which made it to nationals, and become an officer of the Beta Alpha Psi accounting honor society club. None of this would have been possible without your support. Thank you!

The journey that brought me to pursue a career in accounting has been everything but easy. This scholarship has given me confidence and validation in my career field, which is worth more than gold to me. I will always be grateful for the generosity and support through this scholarship.

As a black woman who grew up in the foster care system, I have dedicated my life to helping those who not only look like me but anyone who may need some guidance.  Receiving this scholarship has significantly impacted my family and my life substantially. Not only will I be able to focus on my studies, but I will also be able to graduate from my MT program with very little debt. The stability that one's personal education provides is irreplaceable. When it comes to accounting, not only do I find enjoyment, but I get inspired. Thank you, PCAOB and to the accounting faculty that gave me a chance and chose me as one of the school’s nominees.
